# Add brand trust signals: About page, author box, schema

Publish an About page built from real facts, a linked legal notice, and an author box with LinkedIn and X profiles under every article. Add Organization schema sitewide and Person schema for each author. These cheap on-page signals let search engines confirm a real entity behind the site instead of sorting it with junk pages.

## Prerequisites

- Access to the site's page templates, header and footer
- Verified company details (legal name, postal address, contact method) for the legal notice
- LinkedIn and X profile URLs for each author

## Steps

1. **Publish an About page from verified facts** — Create or rewrite the About page with who you are, where the company came from and who is on the team. Ask the owner for any fact you do not have and never invent history, names or dates. Link the page from the main navigation and the footer.
Check: The About URL returns HTTP 200, names at least one real team member and the company origin, and its link appears in the homepage navigation and footer.
2. **Add a legal notice and link it in the footer** — Publish a legal notice page listing the company name, postal address and a contact method, and place a link to it in the sitewide footer.
Check: The homepage footer contains a link to the legal page, which returns HTTP 200 and shows the company name, an address and a contact method.
3. **Add an author box to the article template** — In the article template, render an author box under the body with the author's name, a one-line bio and links to their LinkedIn and X profiles. Populate it from real profiles only.
Check: View the source of a published article: it contains the author name, the bio line and two outbound links, one to linkedin.com and one to x.com.
4. **Add Organization schema sitewide** *(general best practice)* — Output Organization structured data on every page from the sitewide template, including the organization name, URL, logo and sameAs links to the brand's social profiles.
Check: The Rich Results Test on the homepage detects an Organization item whose name and url match the site.
5. **Add Person schema for each author** *(general best practice)* — Add Person structured data to article pages for the byline author, with name, job title, profile URL and sameAs links to the same LinkedIn and X profiles shown in the author box.
Check: The Rich Results Test on an article URL lists a Person item whose sameAs values equal the profile links in the visible author box.
6. **Connect the two entities with @id references** *(general best practice)* — Reference the Organization from each Person via worksFor and give both nodes stable @id values so the author is tied to the brand entity rather than floating alone.
Check: A JSON-LD validator returns no errors for the page and the Person node's worksFor @id equals the Organization node's @id.
