# Build competitor comparison tables for AI citations

Build a comparison page with three tables — pricing, features, and support — assembled from your pages and three competitors' pages with Claude, then verified cell by cell. Structured, dated comparisons give AI assistants a clear source to cite for buying questions.

## Prerequisites

- Access to your own pricing and feature page copy
- A Claude or equivalent LLM account
- Ability to publish or edit a page on the site

## Steps

1. **Collect competitor and own page copy** *(general best practice)* — Choose the top three competitors, open their pricing pages and main feature pages, and collect the same pages from your own site.
Check: You have a list of at least six live competitor URLs plus the matching pages on your own site.
2. **Build the pricing table in Claude** — Paste the competitor and own page text into Claude and ask for one table with a column per company and rows for starting price, price for 20 users, user limits, free trial, key integrations, and contract length. Instruct it to use only the supplied page text and write 'not listed' where a value is missing.
Check: The table has one column per company and the six requested rows, with 'not listed' in empty cells.
3. **Build the features and support tables** *(general best practice)* — Repeat the same extraction process for a features table and a support and onboarding table, so the page contains three tables in total.
Check: The draft page contains exactly three tables, each with one column per company.
4. **Verify every cell against the live pages** *(general best practice)* — Check each cell against the current competitor and own pages yourself. Correct any cell the model filled from outside the supplied text or replace it with 'not listed'.
Check: Every cell matches the corresponding live page or reads 'not listed'.
5. **Add the checked date under each table** *(general best practice)* — Place a visible line such as 'prices checked October 2026' under every table, using the actual month and year of verification.
Check: Each of the three tables is followed by a visible checked-date line with the current month and year.
6. **Publish the comparison page** *(general best practice)* — Publish the page on your site with the verified tables and checked dates.
Check: The published URL returns HTTP 200 and the rendered page contains all three tables and their checked-date lines.
7. **Set a quarterly recheck reminder** *(general best practice)* — Create a recurring reminder to recheck the tables every three months, starting three months after publication.
Check: A calendar or task reminder exists for a date three months after publication.
