# Prioritize fixes by impact and effort

Score each fix by expected impact on traffic or revenue, engineering effort, risk and reversibility. Start with issues that block indexing or break templates, then high-impression pages with fixable problems. Batch related changes, assign one owner per item, and re-measure after four weeks.

## Prerequisites

- An audit export
- Traffic and revenue data by page

## Steps

1. **Score each item** *(general best practice)* — For every audit item record impact, effort in hours, risk and reversibility. Use a simple 1 to 5 scale and make the scoring rules explicit.
Check: Every item has four scores and an owner.
2. **Sequence by blockers then value** — Ship indexing and template-breaking fixes first, then high-impression pages. Group related changes into one deploy.
Check: The plan lists one deploy per batch with the items included.
3. **Verify and log** *(general best practice)* — After each batch, verify the intended effect with the agreed check and record the result in a decision log.
Check: Each completed item has a verification result and a date in the log.
