# Write unique copy for category pages

Category pages need more than products to rank for commercial queries. Add an intro that states what the category contains and who it is for, buying guidance and answers to common questions. Avoid the same boilerplate across categories, and keep the first paragraph visible.

## Prerequisites

- Category template access
- Assortment and use-case knowledge

## Steps

1. **Write a specific introduction** — State what the category includes, who it serves and how the assortment is chosen. Name real brands or use cases instead of generic filler.
Check: Each category intro mentions at least two specific products, brands or use cases.
2. **Add guidance and answers** *(general best practice)* — Add a short buying guide and an FAQ section based on real customer questions. Link to relevant guides and subcategories.
Check: The page contains at least three question headings answered in the body.
3. **Keep it visible and current** *(general best practice)* — Do not collapse the first paragraph behind a toggle, and update copy when the assortment changes. Check Search Console category queries quarterly.
Check: The intro paragraph is present in raw HTML and references only products still sold.
