Programmatic pages work when each URL has unique data, unique demand and a useful answer. Build from a dataset, validate a sample before scaling, exclude empty combinations, and add value beyond the template such as calculations, local inventory or comparisons. Measure quality per template.
The extended brief explains when this works, when it does not, and the trade-offs. Join the waitlist and it unlocks for every tip when sign-in opens; MCP access is the paid part.
Validate demand for the combinations General best practice
Group the dataset by entity and check query demand for a sample of combinations. Drop combinations with no demand or no data.
Check: Each generated combination has a demand signal and at least one unique data field.
Add value beyond the template
Include data that changes per page: prices, local availability, comparisons, calculations or original images. Remove boilerplate that repeats across every page.
Check: Two sampled pages differ in at least half of their body content.
Measure and prune General best practice
Track indexation, impressions and conversions by template. Turn off templates that generate pages without demand or engagement.
Check: A monthly report shows per-template indexation and impressions, with prune decisions recorded.
Use `generateStaticParams` with a pre-validated dataset list, and `dynamicParams = false` so unvalidated combinations return 404 instead of rendering empty pages.

Generate pages with `getStaticPaths` from a validated dataset and set `prerender` for the route; do not create pages for entries missing required fields.
