Set up an AI SEO workspace brief before agent tasks

Before asking an AI agent to work on SEO, save a brief with the product, buyer, country, pricing and conversion goal, add the page inventory, Search Console queries and real customer questions, then pick one product or service page to support. The agent gets enough context to make decisions that fit the business instead of generic advice.

Before you start

  • A verified Search Console property with query data
  • Access to the site's page inventory or sitemap
  • A folder or repository the agent can read and write

How to apply it

  1. Write the business brief

Create one file in the shared workspace and record the product, the buyer, the target country, the pricing and the conversion goal in plain sentences the agent can quote.

Check: The file exists and contains a line for each of the five fields: product, buyer, country, pricing, conversion goal.

  2. Add the page inventory

List the site's existing pages grouped by template (product, integration, pricing, blog) with their URLs, rather than one flat dump.

Check: Every URL in the inventory returns HTTP 200 and the count matches the number of URLs in the sitemap file.

  3. Attach Search Console queries General best practice

Export queries from the Search Console Performance report and save them in the same folder so the agent can see what the site actually ranks for.

Check: The saved file has at least the columns query, clicks and impressions, with at least one row per target page.

  4. Collect customer questions

Pull recurring questions from support tickets, sales calls or onboarding emails and add them to the brief as the wording buyers use.

Check: The brief lists at least five verbatim customer questions.

  5. Choose one page to support

Pick a single product or service page as the target and record its URL in the brief as the page the next steps will work on.

Check: The brief contains a target page field holding one URL that returns HTTP 200.

  6. Keep all working files in one folder

Store research notes, screenshots and finished edits alongside the brief so the agent reads from and writes to a single location.

Check: The folder path is written into the agent's instructions and the agent can list its contents.

  7. Record the tools you will use

Note which assistant you use for research and writing, and which tools handle classification, recurring research or platform submissions, so the workflow is reproducible.

Check: The brief names one tool per task category with no empty entries.
