Make contact details clickable and consistent

Customers and crawlers both use the contact page to decide whether a business is real and reachable. Put the phone number in a tel: link, show the full address and staffed hours, and keep the same name, address and phone in the footer, contact page and LocalBusiness markup. Test the phone link on mobile and check that the map pin resolves to the real entrance.

Why this matters

Phone, address and hours must match everywhere they appear.

Before you start

  • Confirmed business name, address, phone and staffed hours
  • Access to the footer, contact page and structured data

How to apply it

  1. Confirm the canonical NAP

Write the exact name, street address, postcode, phone and staffed hours as they appear on the storefront and the Google Business Profile.

Check: The recorded values match the Google Business Profile fields character for character.

  2. Make the phone clickable

Wrap every phone number in an anchor with href='tel:+<countrycode><number>' and keep the visible number readable. Do not put the number in an image.

Check: Tapping the number on a phone opens the dialer with the full international number.

  3. Unify every surface

Use the same NAP block in the footer, on the contact page and in the LocalBusiness or Organization markup. Remove older numbers and addresses from templates.

Check: grep for the phone number across templates returns the same string, and the JSON-LD telephone matches it.

  4. Check the map pin and hours

Open the map link on a phone, confirm the pin lands on the entrance, and compare the hours with the profile and the contact page.

Check: The map pin address matches the recorded street address and the hours agree on the site and profile.

Framework notes

static-html

Keep one NAP block in the footer and the contact page, wrap the phone in `<a href="tel:...">`, and mirror it in LocalBusiness JSON-LD.

wordpress

Store NAP in theme settings or a plugin so the footer, contact page and schema read one source instead of three copies.
